- Introduction
Resonus (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our users (“you” or “your”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose information when you communicate with our digital assistant (“chatbot”) via SMS, MMS, or our web-based application. By using our service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. - Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Personal Information: When you create an account or interact with our chatbot, we may collect your name, phone number, email address, date of birth, and locations (e.g. home, work, and other frequently visited addresses). Your personal information allows us to associate you to applicable participating local government jurisdictions and specific initiatives within that jurisdiction.
- Conversation Data: We store and analyze your interactions, including questions, suggestions, polling responses, and feedback.
- Automatically Collected Data: We may collect metadata such as timestamps, device type, location, and usage patterns.
- Cookies and Tracking Technologies: If you use our web-based application, we may collect information through cookies and similar technologies to enhance user experience, analyze trends, and improve our services. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences.
- How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data to:
- Facilitate communication between you and your local government jurisdiction.
- Improve and refine our chatbot services, including processing conversations via a Large Language Model (LLM) API.
- Provide conversation summaries and aggregated insights to local governments.
- Send you service-related notifications, updates on initiatives, and polling requests.
- Ensure compliance with legal obligations.
- Data Ownership and Sharing
Your suggestions and responses become the property of Resonus. We may share aggregated data summaries with third parties.
We do not share individual conversation data with third parties other than the local government jurisdictions associated with your account. You can choose to submit feedback to local governments anonymously or under your name.
We may share your information with our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy. Affiliates include our parent company and any other subsidiaries, joint venture partners or other companies that we control or that are under common control with us.
SMS Data Protection: All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We will not share your SMS opt-in with third-party companies for unrelated marketing purposes. However, we may share your SMS opt-in consent with third parties that help us provide SMS services, such as platform providers and phone companies.
- Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. - Children’s Privacy
You must be 13 years of age or older to use our service. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from anyone under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
- Data Retention
We retain conversation data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required by law. - Your Choices and Rights
- You may opt out of SMS communications by replying “STOP” to any message.
- You can request to access, modify, or delete your personal data by contacting us.
- You may choose to submit your comments anonymously instead of using your personal details.
- If you do not wish to have cookies stored on your device, you can disable them through your browser settings.
- LLM API Processing
Conversations are processed via an external Large Language Model (LLM) API. While we take precautions to ensure secure processing, interactions with the chatbot may be analyzed to improve the service and generate aggregated insights. - Links to Other Websites
Our service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.
